Welcome to the Best Dog Club in the Region

Proudly serving dog enthusiasts of Midwest City, Del City & Tinker Air Force Base

The Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club, Inc. was founded in 1960 to serve fancy dog needs in the Midwest City, Del City, and Tinker Air Force Base area.

What We Do

  • We encourage and promote the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.
  • We conduct yearly dog shows, obedience trials, and sanctioned matches under the rules of the American Kennel Club, Inc. (AKC), the official registry of purebred dogs in the United States.
  • We also make specific bequests to charitable or civic organizations as determined by the majority of paid members at any meeting, where such bequest is being submitted. We have used these contributions primarily to buy equipment for the Oklahoma State Veterinary School, buying bullet-proof vests for the police-dogs in our area, donating to local dog shelters, funding scholarships for veterinary students and for many other such purposes.
  • Mid-Del-Tinker members are also committed to promoting quality breeding of purebred dogs and to do everything possible to perfect the natural qualities of each breed as determined by their respective parent club. We strictly urge our members and breeders to adhere to this standard of excellence.
  • Apart from all this, we also organize many social events, picnics, Christmas dinners etc. Club members spend many hours each month, working on the show plans.

Our Training Classes

At Mid Del Tinker Kennel Club, we conduct training classes as a part of our mission to create a healthy and welcoming environment for people in the community and their dogs. We have the following policies in place for them:

  • Dogs must be a minimum of 12 weeks old and should have had all the required vaccinations.
  • You'll need to provide a copy of the dog’s shot records with proof of vaccinations to the club.

Training classes have been suspending, pending location of a suitable site.

New Policies

Apart from the regular policies, we added a few new policies to make sure that our members don’t have to endure the loss of a beloved pet.

  • Dogs that have been off food and/or water or have a cough, fever or diarrhoea are not allowed in training classes.
  • Those dogs that have been exposed to illnesses such as parvo, kennel cough, canine flu etc. need to be kept at home for the incubation period. For re-joining, we need a letter of clearance from the veterinarian.

Membership

You are not required to reside in the Midwest City, Del City or Tinker Air Force Base area to be a member of our club. Our members live as far as Lawton, Guthrie, Shawnee, Norman, and Oklahoma City. If you love dogs and enjoy doing activities with your dogs and don't mind a little hard work, then we are the club for you. Each year we co-host the largest dog show in the state of Oklahoma, and one of the largest dog shows in the country, the Summer Classic.

Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club is always taking applications for new members. We invite you to attend one of our monthly meetings. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club, reach out to our Secretary (Mary Williams) for more information.
